11/21/11 The walls are going up!
This week in Global Logistics we are watching the exterior walls go up! We are also delivering dictionaries to every third grader in our county, provided by our Lake City Rotery club. An article with more details about the dictionaries to come...

A $10K donation, with more to come...

Columbia High School's Global Logistics Academy received $10,000, the first installment of a $30,000 grant from Plum Creek, a private landowner. The grant will go towards the construction of our training warehouse on campus where students will learn the stills needed in Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management. "Plum Creek recognizes the importance of providing training in schools that is directly related to local industries and job opportunities," said Allison Megrath, real estate manager from Plum Creek. "CHS is offereng their students a superb opportunity to learn useful skills and we are proud to support this program." The check was presented at Tuesday night's school board meeting (November 8, 2011).

Over the past several weeks the students have sucessfully shipped and refurbished over 120 SUMS(Student Using Math and Science) kits to our local elementary schools.
