Many things are changing...

We have a lot of things that have changed this week (1/23/12) and wanted to share them with you!

On 1/25/12 the rest of the ramp's cement was poured!

And on 1/26 our lights began to go up!

The inside of our new warehouse is beginning, and we now have some racking!  

We would like to thank TARGET for their donation of racking to our program!

First Book 1-9-12

Today we received a shipment of books!  We are ecstatic because this is the largest shipment we have received to date; the packing slip says 139,262 books, 1,365 cartons, weighing 28,749.03 lbs.  WOW!!

We will be inventorying the books the rest of this week.  Thank you First Book!!

11/21/11 The walls are going up!

This week in Global Logistics we are watching the exterior walls go up!  We are also delivering dictionaries to every third grader in our county, provided by our Lake City Rotery club.  An article with more details about the dictionaries to come...

A $10K donation, with more to come...

Columbia High School's Global Logistics Academy received $10,000, the first installment of a $30,000 grant from Plum Creek, a private landowner.  The grant will go towards the construction of our training warehouse on campus where students will learn the stills needed in Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management. "Plum Creek recognizes the importance of providing training in schools that is directly related to local industries and job opportunities," said Allison Megrath, real estate manager from Plum Creek.  "CHS is offereng their students a superb opportunity to learn useful skills and we are proud to support this program."  The check was presented at Tuesday night's school board meeting (November 8, 2011).
